Because when I walk into a broadcast truck I see Windows running on the graphics machine (VizRT, Chyron, FoxBox, etc), the music playback machine (Enco), the intercom editor, the audio console and video switcher UI, the router UI, the first and ten machine, the skycam controller (literally controlling a hundred pounds hanging over athlete's heads), I've never once seen an apple product that wasn't someone's personal laptop doing, I dunno, spreadsheets or something. So it is less common to see Windows or Linux based production machines. In a real production environment, stability is ultimately the most important thing. Ironic, since MacOS has a far greater likelihood of making problems with software updates than Windows ever has. Most of the Windows machines that I run into are doing one specific task and are usually never connected to the internet.
